Billie Jean King had to deal with a barrage of gossip columnists and reporters following her. Martina Navratilova had to manage not only the anti-gay attacks, but the pressures of defection. <br /><br />These were some tough individuals who kept winning, despite outlandish media attention and/or career problems.
