WELCOME TO PRIMETIME CAMILA GIORGI

Quick Post

Welcome to prime time Camila Giorgi.  Below is how she beat former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki

If Wozniacki wishes to be taken seriously about playing aggressive tennis, there is no way that you hit 13 winners in a match that goes the distance. No way. Nuff said

Ace's Matches to Watch

Serena Williams vs Sloane Stephens – S Williams has lost 8 games in 3 matches while playing doubles with V Williams. Since escaping a third set tiebreaker in the first round, Stephens, who is 15-3 in Slams for 2013, has lost 6 games in her next 2 matches pummeling U Radwanska and Hampton. This is a rematch of the Australian Open quarterfinals where Stephens rallied from a set and a break to defeat a hobbled S Williams. If S Williams can control her nerves, she should advance but if she is off a tad and Stephens can produce the same kind of tennis like she did in her last two matches, an upset can happen and some media would say S Williams’ season is a disappointment because she won only one Slam and Stephens’ star power would sky rocket.

Carla Suarez Navarro vs Angelique Kerber – Suarez Navarro has won all of her matches in straight sets and is making another deep run at a Slam. Kerber came off a tough three set battle with Bouchard by handling Kanepi will ease. Kerber is trying to salvage a disappointing year.

Agnieszka Radwanska vs Ekaterina Makarova – Despite having to work in her last two matches to close out her opponents, A Radwanska has progressed nicely in the draw and with a win, she will be the only player to reach the quarterfinals in every slam in 2013. Makarova has made the third round for the first time in history defeating Mattek-Sands and Lisicki. Makarova has the game to trouble A Radwanska but A Radwanska has the ability to use her crafty game to neutralize difficult opponents.

Jelena Jankovic vs Na Li –Jankovic has won all of her matches in straight sets but she had a battle against Nara, who qualified for the main draw, in her last match. Li got a measure of revenge in her last match defeating Robson in straight sets. This has the potential to be more of a blockbuster match than the battle of the Americans and the players have contrasting styles. Jankovic is one of the better defenders on the tour while Li is an explosive player who has added an element in her game, i.e. net play.
